Young local entrepreneurs are invited to showcase their businesses at Brunei’s National Youth Day taking place from August 1 to 3 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is expected to attend the event on August 1 and meet with the participating businesses.
This year’s theme is Belia Siaga Masa Depan or Future Ready Youth, with a focus on businesses and organizations that incorporate or offer innovative or technology-driven processes, products and services.
Applications are open to new and established businesses owned by Bruneians below 40-years-old in three clusters:
Creative Economy: The Creative Economy encompasses the creative industries alongside trade, labour and production. Sitting at the intersection of human creativity and ideas, knowledge and technology, the effective development of the creative economy results in both commercial and cultural value.
Social Entrepreneurship: Social Entrepreneurship can be defined as a form of entrepreneurship which predominantly focuses on social benefits rather than solely, financial gain, which seeks to address societal, cultural or environmental issues, often in an innovative manner.
Sustainable Development: The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals were established by world leaders to create a better world, end poverty, fight inequality and take action on climate change. Supporting the goals are measurable targets to guide governments, businesses and society to work together to build a better, sustainable future for all.
